Our family loves pickles! As we usually have a large harvest, we enjoy preserving them in a variety of ways. Even if you are lacking time, there are many recipes which don't involve the canning process. Here is a list of our favorite four methods of pickle making.

And finally, you can make fermented pickles with no canning required!
These will be the healthiest of the group because of the probiotics they contain.
I used the recipe at Deep Roots at Home though my fermenting method involves the Fido jars.
To me, it is much simpler as you don't need to worry about skimming the top, just follow the concept here!
We like to let our cucumbers ferment for 2 weeks before we refrigerate them.
Perhaps I will share a step-by-step tutorial of our version in the future.

I hear you! We have no problem with the cucumbers as of late but our tomato harvests the last few years have been complete flops! God willing, there is always the next year!

DeleteOh, JES...now I definitely have to try making my own pickles! Summer is coming... I have done some sliced pickled cucumbers which have carrot and green peppers with them...just delicious served with fresh bread and homemade cream cheese!
