Some thoughts for the new homeschool year…
First of all, have no fear and be of good cheer!
It can't be as bad as the woman above has it.
Honestly, do you have a strange man dropping fruit
from the window into your classroom?
It can't be as bad as the woman above has it.
Honestly, do you have a strange man dropping fruit
from the window into your classroom?
The Teacher by Theodore Bernhard De Heuve |
At least you don't have that many students in your home
OF THE SAME AGE…
but aren't they adorable, just the same?
and
Thirdly,
you do not have to be perfect this year,
just perfectly willing…
The Teacher by Chardin |
The Teacher
Lord, who am I to teach the way
To little children day by day,
So prone myself to go astray?
I teach them KNOWLEDGE, but I know
How faint they flicker and how low
The candles of my knowledge glow.
I teach them POWER to will and do,
But only now to learn anew
My own great weakness through and through.
I teach them LOVE for all mankind
And all God's creatures, but I find
My love comes lagging far behind.
Lord, if their guide I still must be,
Oh let the little children see
The teacher leaning hard on Thee.

And last, but most important,
start each day with this and
you will not be alone in your endeavors…
"And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up."
~ Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Thank you for the back to school encouragement. I too am a homeschooling mother of 5 but I only home school the older ones because our fifth child just turned 1. We will be starting back to school on Tuesday after Labor day. Again thank you for this post it was much needed....
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I came across this area of your blog. I am beginning our 3rd year of homeschooling. I have 5 sweet children, my youngest 2 are 19 months and 4 months and that is what has me fretting on how we'll "fit everything in". But you've reminded me that God is faithful; just trust in Him.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Thanks for sharing Stacie! Something I have learned in homeschooling and "fitting everything in" is "seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)… We may not fit everything in every day but they will learn what is necessary within the period of the week, month and year... Don't fret those upside down days, just pray through them :)
DeleteLoved this encouragement for the start of school. It seemed to creep up on me quickly this year. I appreciate the reminder that we lean on Him, not our own strength. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems to come ever so quickly! :) Have a wonderful week!
Deleteoh JES ! I am laughing SO hard as I sit at my desk this Monday morning. "It can't be as bad as the woman above has it.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, do you have a strange man dropping fruit
from the window into your classroom?" How true is that statement of yours !!!! haha. I will remember that on the "hard" days of school this year. Thanks for the laugh and good reminder of this whole Post. blessings!
