In Love with Lavender Giveaway! ~ Ode to Herbal Homemaking

“It always seems to me as if the lavender was a little woman in a green dress, with a lavender bonnet and a white kerchief. She’s one of those strong, sweet, wholesome people, who always rest you, and her sweetness lingers long after she goes away.”
~ Myrtle Reed (1874-1911)

Greetings to you all! Today we are sharing the fifth of seven little giveaways I had promised for this little blog! Pretty in Pink Giveaway! ~ A Few Feminine Favorites

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner... I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”
~ Audrey Hepburn

A terrific Tuesday to you all! Today we are sharing the fourth of seven little giveaways I had promised for this little blog! I call it the "pretty in pink giveaway" because of the obvious -- all the pretty pink goodies that exalt the feminine spirit. These are the sweet little details that add a splash of lovely into your homemaking life. Perhaps it is a swipe of light pink shimmer across your lips or the aroma of soft pink petals floating from your skin. You are a special creation, different from man and it is beautiful to stand out as one. I think pink glorifies femininity. In this modern age, to me at least -- pink stands for the softer side, the gentle, the delicate but also the strong and faithful women who aren't afraid to be women.

I have included some of my feminine favorites here. Close friends of mine might laugh at me doing a "beauty-type" giveaway because I am not a big cosmetics person. My "make-up" bag consists of three items  - lip shimmer, lip balm and mascara. But my weakness is fresh floral fragrances and lavish soaps and creams. I hope you enjoy my assortment of beauty products!

Now let the fun begin!..💕

This giveaway includes:

Set/3 Anatomy of a Fragrance "Fresh Cut Trio" Perfumes by Illume (from Anthropologie) 5 ml each,
  • Honey Rose Eau De Parfum
  • Wildflower Bergamot Eau De Parfum
  • Orchid Vanille Eau De Parfum

WISH Savvy Minerals "Light Pink Shimmer Lipstick" by Young Living Essential Oils,

"Savvy Minerals by Young Living™ Lipstick is formulated to bring out every woman’s unique and natural beauty. The lipstick glides on smoothly, with a creamy texture and medium coverage that makes application easy and forgiving. Made with naturally derived ingredients, including moisturizing botanicals, this lipstick is not tested on animals, so you can feel good about what you are putting on your lips."

Lollia "Believe" Cabbage Rose & Citrus Shea Butter Hand Cream (from Anthropologie),

Opi "Throw Me a Kiss" Light Pink Shimmer Nail Lacquer,

Savon De Marseille "Rose" Soap (Made in France),

How I wanted to remove the plastic wrapper for this photo!

and finally -- Sky Organics "Strawberry Bliss" Lip Balm.

"Almost all words do have colour and nothing is more pleasant than to utter a pink word and see someone's eyes light up and know it is a pink word for him or her too."
 ~ Gladys Taber

This little giveaway will be open for the next 7 days and is open WORLDWIDE. You have the option to enter it in 7 different ways (pick and choose as many options that work for you!) in order to have 7 different chances to win! Just follow the instructions on the Rafflecopter below!

Beloved Book Giveaway ~ The Big Book of Homemade Products for Your Skin, Health & Home by Jan Berry

"Our gardens and backyards are filled with flowers, herbs and weeds that have the potential to provide many fun and useful products for home, health and beauty."

Warm and sunny greetings to you all! Today we are sharing the third of seven little giveaways I had promised for this little blog! I call it the "beloved book giveaway" because I adore an informative book packed with pretty pictures to inspire and this book does just that. This is the expanded version of the book I reviewed and gave away a few years back. It is now packed with 151 recipes for your skin, health and home. What a fun resource to add to your home library! Thank you to Jan Berry at The Nerdy Farm Wife who made this giveaway possible 💛

This "Big Book" features easy, all-natural DIY projects using herbs, flowers and other plants. I am sure if you were to poke around your front yard, you would find many botanical treasures that are useful in the home. The dandelion is one such under-rated plant and there are many purposes they boast.  Jan teaches how to turn them into lovely things! Or how about the beautiful rose? And lovely lavender? To make something from their romantic petals and fragrant buds is very enjoyable!

I don't recall if you remember the recipe I shared from the older version of the book. It is for a honey, rose and oat face cleanser. It is so easy to make and so lovely for your skin! These little projects make homemaking fun and also make wonderful gifts! All natural body products can be very expensive and these recipes can $ave a lot of money!

The chapters in the book include:
  • Nontoxic Herbal Skin Care
  • Naturally Soothing Salves & Balms
  • Exotic Body Butters & Lotion Bars
  • Easy, All-Natural Creams & Lotions
  • Garden-Fresh Bath Bombs, Soaks & Salts
  • Beautiful Bath Melts & Scrubs
  • DIY Lip Care
  • Luscious Hair Care
  • Simple Homemade Soaps
  • Herbal Home Remedies
  • Nontoxic Solutions for the Home
  • All-Natural Pet Care

As you can see, there is something for everyone! Many items from the book can be made with simple oils (olive oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, etc.) and staples from your pantry (oats, honey, sea salt, etc.) along with some basic botanicals (i.e., dandelion, roses, chamomile, mint).

I will be sharing the recipe for the floral cleansing grains within the next week or so (with the permission of Jan). These are pictured above and are comprised of normal homemaking ingredients (as I call them). They look so lovely that I can't wait to prepare them! There is something about the flower aspect in skincare that I find very feminine, beautiful and romantic.

This little giveaway for "The Big Book of Homemade Products for Your Skin, Health & Home" by Jan Berry will be open for the next 7 days (it ends on Thursday) and is open WORLDWIDE. You have the option to enter it in 7 different ways (pick and choose as many options that work for you!) in order to have up to 7 different chances to win! Just follow the instructions on the Rafflecopter below!

Note: Where it says "leave a blog comment" on the giveaway widget below, please click it as there is a special question for you to answer in the comments :) Happy kitchen-crafting and wildcrafting ladies!

Happy Hostess Giveaway! ~ Beautiful Blues

"Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling."
~ 1 Peter 4:9

A merry Wednesday to you all! Today we are sharing the second of seven little giveaways I had promised for this little blog! I call it the "happy hostess giveaway" because of the sweet apron but any woman who serves in her home is a hostess every day to those she loves. This means that we don't need a special reason to wear an apron! We are His servers to all who enter our doors so let us always be a gracious one.

I also hope that this little vignette of homemaking goodies will inspire you to open your home and "share with the Lord’s people who are in need" and to "practice hospitality" as the Good Book says (Romans 12:13). You can don your apron with a smile, measure out flour with the pale blue cups for a cake, empty the batter into your pan with the pretty spatula and then wash your hands, dishes and countertops with all the fresh smelling kitchen essentials! Don't underestimate how a simple dinner (or even a cup of coffee, tea and a basic dessert) can be a beautiful way to share some light and gentle laughter with those who are lonely or going through hard times. Use your homemaking tools for the forces of good! 💙

Now let the fun begin!..

Happy Homemaking Giveaway! ~ Fun Florals and Sweet Stripes

“But housekeeping is fun. It is one job where you enjoy the results right along as you work. You may work all day washing and ironing, but at night you have the delicious feeling of sunny clean sheets and airy pillows to lie on. If you clean, you sit down at nightfall with the house shining and faintly smelling of wax, all yours to enjoy right then and there. And if you cook—that creation you lift from the oven goes right to the table.”
~ Gladys Taber

A happy Monday to you all! Today we are sharing the first of seven little giveaways I have planned for this little blog. Sometimes we all need a splash of sunshine in our routine and I think these items that we use daily will do just that! I am one of those people that like to take the time to make everything count in my home and my purchases. If I need to buy a measuring spoon set (for example), I make a big deal finding one that makes me smile and biding my time until I do so. The fun is in the hunt and then finally, the daily use of a lovely object!

This giveaway includes:

A set of 4 striped dishtowels from Anthropologie,

a sweet floral spatula from Anthropologie,

and this 8 piece set of pleasantly printed measuring cups and spoons.

This little giveaway will be open for 5 days (it ends on Saturday) and is open WORLDWIDE. You have the option to enter it in 3 different ways in order to have 3 different chances to win! Just follow the instructions on the Rafflecopter below!

Note: Where it says leave a blog comment on the giveaway, please click it as there is a question for you to answer in the comments :) Happy homemaking ladies!

Beautiful Hair Accessories for Feminine Hairstyles

"It seems to be the fashion nowadays for a girl
to behave as much like a man as possible.
Well, I won't!
I'll make the best of being a girl and be as nice as a specimen as I can:
sweet and modest, a dear, dainty thing with clothes smelling all sweet and violety,
a soft voice, and pretty, womanly ways.
Since I'm a girl, I prefer to be a real one!"
~ Mrs. George de Horne Vaizey, Author (1857-1917)

I love that God created me to be a woman! I love lace, long flowing skirts, the smell of roses and all things floral and feminine! However, when it comes to hair, I can sometimes be dull. When you have long locks, it is easy to get into the ponytail rut! This is why I was thrilled when Hannah offered me the opportunity to try a few Lila Rose Hair Accessories and to host a giveaway on this very blog! The winner will be entitled to pick her favorite hair product from the Lila Rose line and is open to readers around the world (since Lila Rose ships worldwide!)! Giveaway is now closed.

My daughter and I both chose a piece to call our own. There are so many beautiful hair accessories that it was hard to decide!  There are flex-clips (shown in photos), hairbands, ornamental bobby pins, hair-sticks and much more! There is something for everyone as Lila Rose offers products to compliment both long and short hair.

I prefer the old-fashioned, romantic and/or artisan style pieces while my daughter loves the antique, western look. There are so many styles to choose from! Which is your favorite?

I was also impressed with the quality. These are not your typical plastic/breakable hair accessories! They are durable and strong and will hold piles of hair if that has been a problem for you in the past. The Lila Rose Website even shares video tutorials to help you prepare the loveliest of hairstyles! It also offers a short video to determine which size is necessary for your hair if you desire the flex-clip (which is what we chose).

""I reckon maybe, if you don't mind, I'd like to fix your hair just a little before I let you see it," she proposed. "May I fix your hair, please?"

"Why, I--suppose so, if you want to," permitted Mrs. Snow, grudgingly; "but 'twon't stay, you know."

"Oh, thank you. I love to fix people's hair," exulted Pollyanna, carefully laying down the hand-glass and reaching for a comb. "I sha'n't do much to-day, of course--I'm in such a hurry for you to see how pretty you are; but some day I'm going to take it all down and have a perfectly lovely time with it, she cried, touching with soft fingers the waving hair above the sick woman's forehead.

For five minutes Pollyanna worked swiftly, deftly, combing a refractory curl into fluffiness, perking up a drooping ruffle at the neck, or shaking a pillow into plumpness so that the head might have a better pose. Meanwhile the sick woman, frowning prodigiously, and openly scoffing at the whole procedure, was, in spite of herself, beginning to tingle with a feeling perilously near to excitement."
~ Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter

To enter this giveaway, simply visit the Lila Rose website HERE and pick your favorite!  Share the exact name with us in the comment section (because that is what you will win) and make sure to enter your email address in the Rafflecopter widget below (so that we have a way of picking the winner and getting ahold of you)! This giveaway is open to anyone around the world (as Lila Rose ships world-wide too)! Happy hairdressing! :)
