The "Art" of Home-Making Mondays ~ Inspiration #9

"O dear mothers, you have a very sacred trust reposed in you by God! He hath in effect said to you, “Take this child and nurse it for Me, and I will give thee thy wages.” You are called to equip the future man of God, that he may be thoroughly furnished unto every good work. If God spares you, you may live to hear that pretty boy speak to thousands, and you will have the sweet reflection in your heart that the quiet teachings of the nursery led the man to love his God and serve Him. Those who think that a woman detained at home by her little family is doing nothing, think the reverse of what is true. Scarcely can the godly mother quit her home for a place of worship; but dream not that she is lost to the work of the church; far from it, she is doing the best possible service for her Lord. Mothers, the godly training of your offspring is your first and most pressing duty."
~ Charles Spurgeon

A message to the sweet subscribers:

Recently, the Feedburner team released a system update, that the email subscription service will be discontinued in July 2021. After July 2021, the automated emails to our subscribers will no longer be supported. If you’d like to continue getting updates on our blog, please consider switching to Bloglovin (on sidebar) or some other system. In the meantime, I will see what options I can offer on my end. Thank you for understanding and subscribing! Love, JES

  2. JES, thank you for the heads-up about Feedburner no longer supporting your subscription service in July. They appear to have jumped the gun and already started this because I did not receive your April 19th and today's posts. I subscribed via Bloglovin', but so far they don't open your posts until I create a login account so I can access OTHER blogs (which I am not doing). I will not be deterred.:) I am interested if you're able to offer other subscription options. Thank you for your sweet and encouraging visits. Nancy

    1. Thank you for sharing Nancy ❤️I will see what I can come up with as far as subscription services... such a disappointment that they are stopping their services. In the meantime, there is always the "old fashioned" way of bookmarking this blog and checking in on it whenever you have spare time ❤️❤️❤️

    2. I will bookmark your blog, dear JES. Isn't it in keeping with the old-fashioned theme of your blog to access it in this old-fashioned way? Blessings to you, Nancy

  3. "Take the this child... and I will give thee thy wages.." I Never thought of the blessings God bestowed on us as homemakers as wages. Beautiful thought.

  4. Have you looked into MailChimp? Depending on how many subscribers you have it may be cheaper than Aweber. However, Aweber has the advantage of longevity; it has been around for decades and probably isn't going anywhere.
Another options is a simple (and free!) Twitter account. All you have to do is post "New post up, here's the link ..." and you're done. You could also use it for 'new items in Etsy store ..." or other simple one to two line bits. You can even remind or tell new ones of older content, like the A Time to Come series for Preparedness month, or one of the Crazy Cakes for Cake day Or the lemon one for first day of Summer, etc. With times getting tighter for everyone Frugal Tips any time are so helpful. I'd be happy to help if you want.

    Take Care
