Printable Pantry Labels (Expanded Version) Set 1 ~ Pantry Series

For someone like myself, the word "pantry label" evokes a sense of excitement. It means organizing and rearranging my humble domain to make it more efficient. It is also a frugal way to beautify your surroundings. Forgo the expensive new furniture, the new floors and new countertops and spend time adorning what really matters, your practical food supply. It may be a modest kitchen, but it is now a peaceful and orderly one...

Spread the cheer throughout your cooking areas. I like to group my "like kind" containers together for a streamlined look. We applied some labels to our plastic containers, fido jars, canning jars and on my favorite canister jars

They can be placed inside the pantry to dazzle the homemaker's eyes while some may be displayed on open shelves to greet and welcome her guests.

"Undoubtedly much of the distaste for, and neglect of, "housework," so often deplored in these days, arises from unpleasant surroundings. If the kitchen be light, airy, and tidy, and the utensils bright and clean, the work of compounding those articles of food which grace the table and satisfy the appetite will be a pleasant task, and one entirely worthy of the most intelligent and cultivated woman."
~ Mrs. E.E. Kellogg, Science in the Kitchen, 1893

We would like to share our pantry labels with you, dear reader.  This is an expanded version of our last set which now includes five pages! We have also included some blank labels on this printable so that you can customize them to fit your needs. The original label (shown below for further customization) is compliments of The Graphics Fairy.

You may also be interested in our "Gluten-Free Pantry" labels addendum,  "Nuts and Seeds" labels and our matching "Seasonings, Spices and Such" set.  I invite you to subscribe to this blog (located on the sidebar) to get updates and access to future homemaking printables.

Simply download and  print the PDF file for FREE from HERE. You can either print them out on plain paper, cut to size and affix to your containers with glue (or decoupage) or print them out on sticker paper and cut to size. If you choose the first route, you may want to place a piece of packing tape or clear contact paper over each label to protect them. I used the template for our old Avery labels and printed directly on them.

  2. I am so happy that you have included more items! I used your original set last week to spruce up my baking pantry and they look great. I found that the clear contact paper I had on hand worked well. Thank you for taking the time to make more, I will enjoy using them! Blessings, Melissa

    1. You are most welcome :) Did you print directly onto the clear contact paper? I am curious how you did it and glad to know that these will come in handy! Happy homemaking!

  3. No, I just printed onto printer paper and then cut those out and then cut pieces of the contact about 1/2 an inch larger all around. You have to place the label onto the sticky side of the contact slowly because once it's stuck that's it. I only goofed on one :o) ~Melissa

ps. I'll send you a photo link once I've finished labeling with the new labels!

    1. Thanks Katie. It is actually two sets of shelves build into the wall like the one you see. Not a complete ceiling to floor (drool). There was a weird nook there when we moved in and we thought maybe there was once a window there. So, my husband purchased 2 thick, second hand boards for $2 and made them into a pantry shelf nook. The rest of my pantry items are spread throughout in little groupings. Have a wonderful week :)

  6. "Not a complete ceiling to floor (drool)"...Oh Jes, we must think alike! Any ideas/encouragement on keeping the kitchen CLEAN? It is my nemesis...never ending chore of wiping counters, doing dishes, sweeping and scrubbing floors.

    1. Still working on that one Katie! When you cook from scratch, the dishes abound but don't forget your little helpers :)

    2. My little helpers are so short..LOL! The older two (almost 5 and 6) can sweep, but they can't reach the counters/sink/dishwasher...one day they will...right?!?! :)

    1. Oh my goodness! What a beautiful area! I loved the photos (gorgeous) and the pantry space! And the vintage tablecloths on top was just lovely :) I have the same canisters jars but with the black lids… I would love to post this as a "pantry inspiration". Would you be willing to share that photo and a few more close ups maybe? You could email me the pictures and I could link back to your Flickr Page. If not, I understand, some things we like to keep private in our lives. Well, I am glad you shared the photos, it made my day :)

    2. BTW… I tried leaving the comment on your Flickr Page and it wouldn't let me :( Any ideas? Of course I browsed through your other photos, you are very talented!!!

  9. Thank you! You can certainly link photos, and I will take a few close-ups this week, I was thinking about it anyway. I used to blog years ago but quit because it was too time consuming and there was too much pressure to be interesting ;o) That's why I really can appreciate what you do! But flickr is still doable for me, no pressure and it's fun to share photos and inspiration. I'm not sure why you couldn't comment, but I think you have to have a flickr account to comment. Thanks so much!! ~Melissa

    1. Hi again! Okay, here is what I was thinking… I wanted to actually post the pictures on this blog with a "here is some pantry inspiration from a reader using our pantry labels..." and then link back to your Flickr page… Let me know how you feel about this… You can email me so that this doesn't have to be public each time at pleasewritetojes@hotmail.com… Thanks for taking the time to respond :)
