“But housekeeping is fun. It is one job where you enjoy the results right along as you work. You may work all day washing and ironing, but at night you have the delicious feeling of sunny clean sheets and airy pillows to lie on. If you clean, you sit down at nightfall with the house shining and faintly smelling of wax, all yours to enjoy right then and there. And if you cook—that creation you lift from the oven goes right to the table.”
~ Gladys Taber
A happy Monday to you all! Today we are sharing the first of seven little giveaways I have planned for this little blog. Sometimes we all need a splash of sunshine in our routine and I think these items that we use daily will do just that! I am one of those people that like to take the time to make everything count in my home and my purchases. If I need to buy a measuring spoon set (for example), I make a big deal finding one that makes me smile and biding my time until I do so. The fun is in the hunt and then finally, the daily use of a lovely object!
This giveaway includes:
A set of 4 striped dishtowels from Anthropologie,
a sweet floral spatula from Anthropologie,
and this 8 piece set of pleasantly printed measuring cups and spoons.
My favorite part of homemaking s cooking.
ReplyDeleteThis are so beautiful!! I loved them!!! I love the content of the blog!!! Lots of love♥️♥️♥️
ReplyDeleteI love ALL of homemaking! "Cooking, cleaning, organizing, AND decorating!" Being a wife and mother were my childhood dreams, and I have never ceased to be amazed and grateful that God lets those dreams come true each day and has blessed me so much. I am eternally indebted to Him and love every, single part of everything I do every day.
ReplyDeleteWhat charming items. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely! JES, I'm so glad that you have made your little giveaway open worldwide. I can't tell you how many times I've been excited about a blog giveaway only to see that it's only open to residents of the US. I can almost see the US from my house (I live near the border) but I'm technically in Canada! :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thank you for the chance to win!
Oops, I commented before reading instructions. :) My favourite of homemaking is cooking and baking delicious treats that my family enjoys. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely items! I love all areas of homemaking! I would have to say the kitchen area is my favorite and bringing joy to my family there! I also enjoy the search for just the right item! ;)
ReplyDeleteCooking. Cooking is my "safe" place.
ReplyDeleteI love many things about homemaking but baking and cooking is probably my favorite. I would love to win such a beautiful giveaway. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of homemaking is...all of it. I enjoy making a home in which my family feels safe and happy.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited that you are posting again!:)
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to narrow it down to my favorite part of homemaking, each area is an opportunity to love on the family. If pressed, my answer would be cooking and baking because nourishing the bodies with foods that are enjoyable bring delight to my heart.

I have 6 girls and through out the years I have tried to teach them to find joy in the necessary duties of the home. Organizing has got to be one of my most loved duties baking - of course- and having a prepared pantry & freezer as it brings so much joy as the family gathers around the table for family meals!
ReplyDeleteFinding just the right things to have in your home...practical and make you smile is so important. This giveaway is lovely! I think my favourite part of homemaking is cooking...but I do love decorating to.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of homemaking is decorating and cooking for all the different holidays and then sharing with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway! And I loved the Gladys Taber quote. Such a wonderful image came to mind. :-)
ReplyDeleteDecorating and organizing are my favorite parts of homemaking for sure! : ) So thrilled to see you blogging again - I found your blog after your hiatus and have loved perusing it but how fun to see fresh content!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you are back! I have missed your blog posts so much! Thank you for the lovely giveaway. I would like to thank you for the time you take to post in your blog!
ReplyDeleteHello Jess - your blog is so beautiful & I am so pleased to see you are posting again. Thanks for the opportunity to enter this wonderful Giveaway. My favourite part of Homemaking - well I love all the aspects of making my home a welcoming place to be in ...cooking, cleaning, gardening, decorating but I think I especially love baking goodies for the cake tins.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part? Well, I guess it's the budgeting part--odd, I know, but I love the freedom that comes from the creativity that saving money brings to my homemaking. I don't look at a problem or a need and think, I have to go buy something for this. Instead I ask myself what has God put in my hands? I'm not certain where I learned this, but I have found that if I simply stop and THINK, a creative and most often, free solution will present itself. By doing this, I am freed up to concentrate on cooking, baking, and other tasks that I also enjoy. Oh, JES, I am so happy you're back--you make me THINK about all the wonderful aspects of homemaking!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see you back blogging once more. And thank you so much for leaving posts up so that we could get value from all that you've posted over the years.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I love all aspects of homemaking, from decorating to organizing, cleaning, cooking and the pure satisfaction I feel at the end of the day.
My favourite part is making things for my home. I love sewing so if there is a need for a made item, I make it myself.
ReplyDeleteI work full time but love to come home and do my housework, that way when I come home each night, I'm coming home to clean house. I LOVE my home and enjoy taking care of it and my husband.
ReplyDeleteI love organizing, decorating, cooking, and cleaning, okay, maybe not dusting. I totally agree with the quote above, that it is delicious to settle down at night and have a sense of completeness about your clean home.
ReplyDeleteI ran across your blog recently & just loved it so I subscribed. I was so happy to see the first post from you today, thank you! Love what you did with the potholders too.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy homemaking because it is loving on, caring for,and serving my family. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, organizing, and decorating, but my favorite of those is cooking. This is a very lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cheerful collection of useful tools, thank you for this opportunity!
ReplyDeleteAs for your question, which aspect of homemaking is my favorite? I think it depends on the day or week. My answer will have to be - the whole package. The joy and satisfaction of a job well done.
My favorite part about homemaking is a combination of baking and decorating. I love to be creative and those two give me ample opportunity. I love decorating with vintage items, especially those that belonged to my grandmother.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of homemaking would be decorating. Knowing just what little touches will inspire the imagination and make people feel the most cozy and secure gives me joy.
ReplyDeleteI like cooking for my family and dear friends. It us a real joy to see them enjoy a meal that I made for them.
ReplyDeleteI love to cook, but it gets eaten immediately and then I have to cook again, so I think my favorite part of homemaking would be organizing because when you organize an area it lasts a while and makes life run smoother.
ReplyDeleteI love most parts of homemaking. The décor gives me the peace and comfort I need around me. Cooking keeps me and my family pleasantly nourished. I even enjoy the cleaning aspect, because it makes everything feel fresh and pleasant. Did I say I love homemaking?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is cooking. I love to eat!
ReplyDeleteDarlene
I love Gladys Taber. I was introduced to her through Susan Branch who absolutely adores her. Thank you for the offer. Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of homemaking is doing the laundry. I love it when the clothes, towels, and bedding all smell clean and fresh. I also love baking, not cooking, just baking for some reason.
ReplyDeleteOops! I love all of homemaking but decorating and cooking are my favorite parts. I even love the laundry. There is nothing so wonderful as the smell of clothes line dried clothing and sheets - a little bit of Heaven on earth!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...favorite part? That's a tough one! I suppose it would have to be cooking! Thank you for returning to our world and this giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a lovely giveaway, dear JES! Thank you for hosting something so lovely! I love every aspect of home making. Even though I don't have my own home yet, I derive so much joy and satisfaction from cooking a healthy meal for my family, pottering about in the garden or tidying up an area... Currently I work outside the home for a few hours each day, and I must say, I MISS being at home as much as o used to! Being in the kitchen is probably my favourite part of home making, though!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday! May your week be a beautiful one!
Blessings,
Kelly-Anne
My favorite part to homemaking is organizing! It all seems much for calm and peaceful when I am organized. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful quote (and attitude), and a gorgeous gift!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely giveaway! Whilst I am not yet married and a homemaker in my own home, I do love homemaking as a daughter in my family's home. And I do so adore all the bits of homemaking, especially the cooking and baking side of things, as well as learning about and expanding my skills in living sustainably and naturally and from scratch. I find such joy and delight in homemaking! I truly believe that homemaking is a high and noble calling and a privilege! ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to enter this beautiful giveaway! It is a splendid one at that!

ReplyDeleteMy favorites are cooking and decorating, also making my own soap, laundry fluid etc. Heike (hahue@msn.com)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of homemaking is just being in my home. The daily rhythms of doing things and smiling to myself as each chore is ticked off the list and then looking at my home and being proud of all I have achieved and especially when guests come over and they compliment me on my home...I was born for this role . It is so much more satisfying than being a nurse ever was. Even though it was satisfying it always felt like something was missing. Not now...I am truly happy as a homemaker
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to pick a favorite. I would say cooking was my first because it's so rewarding when a tired hungry soul walks in and looks so thankful for what you've done for them - it just shows them you love them! But, for fun wise, I love trying to decorate on a budget - it really gets to my artsy-creative challenge side!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your site Jes, if I need inspiration this is where I come!!
ReplyDeleteI love to decorate. Cleaning needs to be done, but not my favorite.
ReplyDeleteLately my favorite part of homemaking has been cooking and baking with my boys. They are both teens now, and they are enjoying learning how to be more proficient in the kitchen. It's fun to work with them. My favorite day as a homemaker...Mondays! That's my big cleaning day, and I love how everything is clean, orderly and ready for the week.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy laundry, believe it or not! After raising 10 children, and hanging laundry on the line for 20 years, it's still my favorite. I don't hang on the line anymore but prefer the quickness and softness of the clothes in the dryer now. I like washing dishes by hand, too. Gives me time to think. I guess I like taking something dirty and making it clean!
ReplyDeleteEvidently I cannot leave comments using my phone:-( That is probably the most beautiful spatula I've ever seen! How kind and generous of you to share. My favorite part of homemaking isn't really a single task - it's comfort and beauty in what's familiar, a favorite cozy blanket draped over a chair, a yummy treat on a pretty dish, etc.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of homemaking is making things peaceful. Having things clean, good food cooked or baked, gentle conversation. I love it when people say my home brings them peace.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you back--your blog is such an inspiration!

ReplyDeleteWhat a delight to see you posting again. I enjoy your posts so much. My favorite part of homemaking? My favorite thing is cooking, baking, canning, really anything in the kitchen, but I do love making everything comfortable and nice for myself and my husband.
ReplyDeleteDear JES,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of homemaking is the day and the sunshine. I like to rise early and seize that day. This and every day is the day the Lord has made, so I enjoy being cheerful as I buzz around like a bee after starting each day in The Word. Sometimes my list of to-dos has to be set aside in order to face a challenge that’s presented itself. But as long as that sun is up- whether in front of or behind the clouds- I SO enjoy cleaning, tidying, leaving a little space better because I blessed it with order and shine, preparing, planning, building up and edifying.
*hugs*
~Kelley
My favourite part of homemaking is definitely the cooking! I don't mind the cleaning, but the tidying, I certainly struggle with that part!
ReplyDeleteKelly B (I'm not sure if my other comment posted, sorry if it's a double up)

ReplyDeleteI believe it's cleaning, haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're blogging again! I so enjoyed your posts and homemaking inspiration. I think my very favorite homemaking chore has to be sewing. When there's time, it eases my mind and gives me time for audiobooks and praise music. Laundry is a close second. I must just like fabric! =}
ReplyDeleteStacy
Hanging laundry on the clothesline and the wonderfully scented results!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of homemaking is cleaning, especially in my kitchen. A beautiful, clean kitchen makes me happy!
