This copywork printable is a sweet way to teach the calendar, promote language art skills, poetry, art and penmanship in your homeschool. Featuring our favorite black and white monthly drawings by Kate Greenaway, your children may also enjoy coloring each regency inspired page featuring past-time play.
These sheets will compliment our "Teaching the Calendar" Unit Study. And, if you are new to the benefits of copywork in your homeschool, I invite you to visit here for some explanation. It is such a burden-less way to teach language arts!
Each page features a seasonal drawing and two corresponding lines of poetry from "The Months" by Sara Coleridge (1802-1852). Perhaps this booklet would be useful in your homeschool? You will find our FREE printable HERE.

I have seen some of KG's work, but not the copywork sheets. They are really delightful...I must keep these in mind for grandchildren, but I'm getting ahead of myself! Haha!
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative and what a blessing these will be for Mamas of young scholars!
Hugs and blessings for a wonderful New Year, JES!
Thanks :) I actually created the copywork sheets… and it would be wonderful if your grandchildren used them one day! :) We could dream can't we! ;)
DeleteI am printing these to use with my daughter. I'm new to copy work but see the value, and my daughter will love to color the pictures. So lovely! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh, glad to see it is going to be used!!! :)
DeleteThese are great! I'm printing to use with my daughter, who will love the pictures to color. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome! Copywork has been a big blessing in our homeschool as it is such a stress-free way to teach language art skills :)
DeleteJES, this is WONDERFUL!! I've been on the look out for something to teach my daughter the months. I'll be adding this to her 1st grade curriculum, starting in Jan.
ReplyDeletePerfect :)
DeleteI love this poem and had my daughter memorize it in 2nd grade. I'm so excited to have these really cute copywork pages and pictures, thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome :)
DeleteHello there,
ReplyDeleteI stopped in through Roses of Inspiration.
I like your ideas here; I think you are on to something good.
:) Hope
I think these copy work sheets are great, such a [pity it doesn't match with our seasons here in Australia.
ReplyDeleteOh, too bad! I am sorry about that!
DeleteJES, copywork is the way to go! We have done it all the years we have homeschooled. My understanding is that the public school systems here in our current state no longer require or teach (beyond the very basics) cursive writing. I see it in my students, and it is not a good trend by any means. Thanks for this lovely project. I know our daughter will love it (and she is 17!)
ReplyDeleteI am trying to reach you to get access to these printables.(The "Months" copywork pages.) I have clicked on the highlighted "HERE" button and it takes me to a google drive, request permission to access the drive page. I have sent a message with a request to access the google drive. Please let me know if there is more I can do to reach you for permission. I'm hoping to use these in January for a poetry unit. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about that! Google did some updates which locked my printables and I am fixing them one by one. I think this one should be good now! Please let me know if you are able to print them now :) I hope you enjoy these. They are one of my favorites!!!
DeleteThank you for access to the booklet. I will be using this in Jan 2022 with our homeschool co-op. Looking forward to using it! God Bless.
