DeleteYour homemade gift ideas are lovely. Our youngest is helping a lady from her church care for a baby several days each week so I'm going to pass along some of Peter Rabbit's room spray to her. Even if we don't use everything ourselves we can usually find someone who could benefit from our homemade items. I should make her some burp cloths, too. The most gratifying homemade gift I ever gave someone was an unlined jacket for my younger brother. He told me he wore it walking on the beach in the cool evenings while he and his wife were on vacation. The most un-gratifying (tongue in cheek) was a denim dress I made for my younger sister. She wore it the last day once when they were visiting, and when she hiked herself up, into her husband's jeep to leave we all heard the expensive denim rip. Argh. It was an audible no-way-to-repair-it rip. I always back-stitch every seam at stress points so there was no way the stitching was going to give. Ah well, she wore it a few times, lol. DeleteWhat a truly lovely list this is! In my family we gave up giving gifts to each other years ago - except for the kids. But we somehow we still give each other gifts during the holidays anyway! Whether it's a plate of cookies, paying for lunch and a movie, or other handmade items, we still somehow seem to break the family "rules" and give our gifts anyway. A basket of several items on your list would make a marvelous gift to my sisters. I already have some vanilla and lemons steeping to make extract, but I think I will also make some room sprays and the lotion bar. I think it would make a lovely gift! Thank you :)
