"Life is the flower for which love is the honey."
~ Victor Hugo
Love is in the air... The regal red hue is waving its banner, there is a sprinkling of hearts wherever one looks, there are mounds of exotic chocolate recipes waiting to be made and the crowning glory, an abundance of romantic roses. Basically, many ideas to bless a union. May I add my own sentiments on the matters of marriage?
{Or, the blessings of the long-haul love.}
{Or, setting the mood.}
{Or, please don't take your husband for granted.}
{Or, a bit about discretion in marriage.}
And finally, for a bit of fun, you may be interested in learning "How to Preserve a Husband" as well as a list of our favorite Period Movies for the Romantic Hearted and Sentimental Soul.

Thank you Dany! I love surprises and look forward to the visit! :)
DeleteAbsolutely agreed!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, it's February, and the masses are being preyed upon to give up their gold for second-rate chocolates, dead roses and cards with someone else's words on them. Call me jaded, call me stingy, but that ain't love. ;)
No, love is every day and keeping a marriage takes work every day (with God's help)... Thank you for sharing your sentiments! :)
DeleteI read each and every one of these and I have to say they are all so true and such wise advice! Lovely images to go with these beautiful words of advice. The movie selections are wonderful, too. Jane Eyre is one of my favorites (the book is even better) and Sarah, Plain and Tall is a favorite, too. Loved this post. Happy Valentine's Day to you. Blessings xo Karen
ReplyDeleteThank you for the encouragement Karen! Have a lovely weekend!
DeleteP.S. I agree, the books are always better!!! :)
Wonderfully encouraging post - and very timely for me as it is something I am hoping to work hard on in the future. I admit I have not been the best wife I can be and I pray that I can remedy that. Thanks for your wonderful words.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to hear from you Jayne. It can be very difficult but is very rewarding! What better investment of time and effort than those you are bound with by God and in a relationship which mirrors some grand heavenly plan (Ephesians 5:32)...
DeleteAnd we all need encouragement and reminders-- I do type much to remind myself!

ReplyDeleteWhat about a marriage where one person constantly puts the other down.
ReplyDeleteTakes all of the money in the marriage for things they want and refuses to provide for his family.
I am sorry to hear of this... In the end, it is the Living God who is the answer to such pain. It is He who will change the heart of man and teach him to love others as himself... It is He who teaches the husband to love his wife as Christ loved the church. .. It is the fear and love of God that keeps our marriage vows when our moods and feelings may want to rebel. I pray that you seek Him (if you already haven't) and to begin praying for your husband... Once he feels the love of God, it will begin to overflow to those around him...
