The "Art" of Home-Making Mondays ~ Inspiration #2

"Here is a good New Year's resolution for us all to make: To simplify our lives as much as possible, to overcome that feeling of haste by remembering that there are just as many hours in the day as ever, and that there is time enough for the things that matter if time is rightly used."
~ Laura Ingalls Wilder, On Wisdom & Virtues

"Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
making the best use of the time…"
~ Ephesians 5:15-16

  1. Wise words that sound so simple but can be very difficult to implement - at least for me they are! :)

  2. What do you do now that you have finished homeschooling? Mine are 13 and 15...almost 14 and 16. I am sad the years have gone so quickly.

    1. It is a hard adjustment! And not something I can answer quickly... I will write out a post in response to that (when I can redeem the time that is!)... I understand your feelings...

    2. Hi Sandi, I’ve homeschooled 3 children. All 3 are married now. I can tell you I never have enough time in the day to get to everything I’d like to, even still. It was definitely an adjustment, but there is So much joy in their next stages of life too. They still need their mom(maybe even more in some cases), but in a different way.❤️
I’m looking forward to reading JES’s post about it when she can!

  3. I was just going over this verse in my mind today about redeeming the time. It’s been a day of “getting back on track” after a child’s wedding and visiting with family. Sat down to put my feet up a minute and saw your new post. Thank you!

  4. Wishing you a very Happy New Year as well~
Have you ever read that old book "How to Live on 24 hrs. a Day" (1910)? I think it's free on Gutenberg.
    Such wise verses you've chosen.
