ReplyDeleteI have made plum butter this morning, and decorated my hall table ( really my grandmothers Singer treadle machine) for autumn this afternoon. I have done my marketing and my laundry, which has blown dry on the line in the garden. I delivered lunch to my farmer husband, who is harvesting in the fields. The eggs are collected from the henhouse and I am just having a five minute sit down before making supper. The day has flown by, but what a blessing it is to be able to be a homemaker!

I am an empty nester now, and although many have thought I should "get a job now that the kids are gone," I find great joy in being a full-time homemaker. Truly, there is nothing I would rather do!

Thank you for this! My days are so full. Glad I can minister to my family while also schooling the children. My husband and I recently took stock and feel so thankful we stayed on this path (he working outside the home while I work inside and around it).
